LIGHTNING RELEASES (5/27/2014) – Looking for a way to get active outdoors and help support a great cause? Join Answers for Autism on Saturday, September 20 from 9 am – 1 pm for the 14th Annual Answers for Autism Walk and Family Festival at Cox Hall Gardens in Carmel, Indiana.
Come celebrate fourteen years of this wonderful event dedicated to raising funds and increasing awareness of autism. The day is filled with fun activities such as bounce houses, rock climbing wall, bubbles, tattoos, face painting, sand toys, sensory activities and more.
The walk is a one mile, wheelchair accessible walk, which takes place following a balloon release. In addition to children’s activities, there will also be a silent auction and autism store. Families can find information related to autism and autism awareness merchandise at the autism store.
Answers for Autism is an all-volunteer organization founded and led by parents of children on the autism spectrum. We dedicate ourselves to creating a community where individuals with autism are able to participate in and contribute without fear of bias or loss of individuality. This is accomplished through our Answers for Autism Grant Program
Proceeds from the walk are used to fund the Answers for Autism Grant Program which awards grants to non-profit organizations across Indiana in areas of education, recreation and safety. Some of the programs that have been supported by Answers for Autism grants include camp scholarships, iPads for learning or communication, therapeutic riding, national speakers, training for First Responders and equipment for Project Life Saver.
Our grant program is funded through donations and sponsorships of various events held through the year. Since 2001, we have distributed over $600,000 to non-profit autism programs throughout Indiana and $200,000 has been donated to national autism research. Join us at the 14th Annual Answers for Autism Walk and help Indiana families touched by autism!
