LIGHTNING RELEASES — Washington, DC, June 12, 2014 – Leading proposal management professionals came together for an evening of celebration at the annual international Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) Awards dinner on May 28, 2014. More than 800 people representing every part of the proposal and business development lifecycle were in Chicago, IL, USA for a record-setting APMP Bid & Proposal Con 2014. APMP National Capital Area (NCA), the largest chapter in the U.S., won two awards
“I am proud that we received the 2013 Communications Award – very deserving! Special recognition goes to Ben Skelly who introduced the “5-Fact Friday” weekly email campaign last year. He also expanded our use of social media, and launched a website redesign effort”, said Maryann Lesnick, President, APMP-NCA.
The Communications Award honors the chapter that provides outstanding content and value in communications (newsletter, website, email blast, social media or other communications means) to its members, APMP and fellow chapters.
“We are most excited that one of our members received the first ever Future Leader Award! Constance Dyson initiated a mentorship program that kicked off in December of 2013. This initiative resulted in a new position on the board to focus on professional development. There was much enthusiasm about it when presented at the chapter leaders’ meeting in Chicago, and the program has become a model for other chapters to adopt”, said Ms. Lesnick.
The APMP Future Leader Award honors a new proposal, bid, capture, business development or graphics professional who has made a significant contribution to the industry or his/her organization during the year and shows potential for future organizational leadership.
The Chapter 2013 awards honorees include:
Ben Skelly (APMP-NCA Marketing & Publicity Chair), Chapter Communications Award 2013
Constance Dyson (APMP-NCA Executive Board Secretary), Future Leader Award 2013
“I am proud that our chapter is leading the way in helping our members succeed. We will continue to launch new initiatives to educate and inform members as well as help them network with their industry thought leaders,” said Lisa Pafe, Vice President, APMP-NCA.
All are invited to attend APMP-NCA’s 2014 Mid-Atlantic Conference & Expo November 20-21, 2014 in Tysons Corner, VA, USA.
