Companies Cooperate on Product Definition, Development, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Combine RFID Roadmaps Under SensThys Brand
CUPERTINO, CA – March 8, 2019: SensThys®, Inc. a technology company that seamlessly integrates sensors, communications, and high efficiency systems built upon a powered networking platform, and Microelectronics Technology Inc. (MTI), a technology company specialized in wireless communication product development, manufacturing and global sales for more than 36 years, announced a mutual partnership encompassing a broad range of business elements.
“The relationship between SensThys and MTI started building over 12 months ago, after SensThys started a critical assessment of the capability of a wide variety of available RFID readers, including those built upon MTI technology.” said Jo Major, SensThys CEO. “This benchmarking effort highlighted the limitations of many existing readers and the potential of MTI solutions. This evolved into a collaborative effort to develop a solution beyond what currently exists. The achievements of our joint work provide a strong capability to deliver in the RFID and IoT sensor markets.”
Key elements of this partnership include:
- Promotion, sales and marketing through the SensThys brand of MTI and SensThys RFID and other key sensor products
- The sharing of product development and testing under a collaborative product roadmap
- SensThys to use MTI manufacturing for volume manufacturing at world-class production facilities with extensive certifications including: ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, TL9000, CNLA and IECQ per ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/ESD S20.20
- SensThys use of extensive environmental and reliability test equipment for temperature, humidity, leakage (water immersion), vibration/shock, salt spray and Electro-Static Discharge (ESD)
- The introduction of new product lines featuring the best technologies from both organizations, such as, SensThys’ power and network routing and MTI expertise in RF design including rugged outdoor RF systems
“MTI brings a deep capability in manufacturing, RF system design and reliability to the program, including a full suite of environmental testing capabilities, reliability assessment, and fully certified manufacturing facilities.” said Darryn Prince, MTI RFID Business Unit Head. “MTI has been active in RFID since the year 2004 and manufactures products for multiple Fortune 500 companies, including aerospace and communications customers.
