WASHINGTON, D.C., February 20, 2018–Much like the winter Olympics in PyeongChang, S. Korea, D.C. Fashion Week (DCFW) is uniting fashion designers from around the world to showcase their champion collections.
“The inclusivity of local, national and multi-cultural model talent is salient to DCFW,” says executive director Ean Williams.
Having won a plethora of awards, the once under-appreciated fashion week is now exploding in terms of recognition and value. Like bitcoins, designers are experiencing record-breaking returns on investments via DCFW’s platform.

Wednesday, February 21st – Press Night #melrosedcfashion
This media invite-only event is a first look of the exhibiting designers for DCFW. Guests preview the DCFW Designer Showroom before it is open to the public. The event takes place at the beautiful Georgetown Melrose Hotel where designers can meet with buyers, attending media can promote fashion week, and the general public can further participate all while being entertained by featured musical guest violinist Marvil “Marvillous Beats” Martin.
Thursday, February, 22nd – Fashion Industry Networking Party – Next/Gen Designer Showcase #DCFWNexGen
DC’s largest fashion industry networking event shines the spotlight on the next generation of eco-conscious student fashion designers from participating colleges & universities with an accredited fashion program. Consigned with the goal of creating clothing from recyclable materials and/or by methods not harmful to the environment, only the finest of Next/Gen designers are chosen to showcase their talents. This event is held at the Dirty Martini Bar & Grill and admission is free.
Friday, February 23rd – Diplomacy by Design Haiti Fashion Designers Showcase #DiploymacyByDesign
Special guest fashion designers from Haiti grace the runway with rare and exquisite Haitian collections, paying tribute to the beautiful and colorful Caribbean islands. The venue is the Embassy of Haiti and is hosted by Miss Black America.
Saturday, February 24th – M.E.D.I.A (Metropolitan Emerging Designers & Indie Artists Showcase) #DCFW
Emerging designers from the U.S. converge and reveal the latest spectrum of swimwear, athletic/sportswear, urban wear as well as black tie & evening dress wear. This showcase also highlights designers of men’s wear and plus-size fashions, as its growth & popularity are becoming mainstream. Expect to be overwhelmed with amazement from very special musical guest performances.
Sunday, February 25th – The 28th International Couture Collections
The much-anticipated season finale features one-of-a-kind designs of designers from around the world whose collections include high-end, luxury fashion. Often constructed by hand from start to finish using high quality, ostentatious, rare and unusual fabrics, these designs include evening wear, bridal and semi-cocktail gowns. Many of the designers include their country’s traditional costume designs. This event is considered the flagship of DCFW and is always held on closing night. This event is hosted at the historic Sphinx Club at Franklin Square where VIP admission includes front row seating, deluxe gift bags and champagne!
